The HSM-MODAL is a flexible machine concept for various applications. In addition to mechanical processing, applications such as grinding, material application, handling, etc. can also be carried out.
The standard machine concept includes a portal elevated on both sides. The optional one-sided elevated variant allows lateral access to the working area.
The uniqueness is the consistent use of lightweight components for the moving part of the machine. Components made out of carbon fiber and sandwich components made of carbon fiber-aluminum honeycomb are used for this.

Service
EEW-PROTEC GmbH guarantees comprehensive support for maintenance and service, machine extension, relocation and extension of existing plants and machine downtimes.
Due to the lightweight construction and the resulting low loads, HSM-MODAL is subject to only minimal wear. Thus there is practically no wear on the main components such as motors, gears, racks, guides, carriages, bearings, etc.
This is proven by the fact that almost all HSM-MODAL units ever built since 1989 are still successfully used by customers.
Some of these machines have been upgraded to the latest generation of control systems and current spindles. Here too, EEW-PROTEC carried out the refit and brought the machines into an almost mint condition.
Of course, all machines are measured and compensated by means of the most modern measuring technology in order to guarantee the highest component accuracies again.
Low Operational Cost
Lightweight and efficiency have a direct side-effect: Reduction of Energy Consumption.
The average energy consumed by our machines is between 5 and 7 KW, which means that except for start-up power peak, we could even connect HSM MODEL to a standard household.
A possible example of a machine running 4200 hours per year, consuming energy at 0.12 € / KWh, would have an annual operating cost of less than 2,500 €
