HSM-VIDAL is a high-speed 5 axis CNC machining centre which, due to the high number of degrees of freedom in the movements, makes it possible to machine objects with curved – and even more complex – shapes with high precision. This is ensured by a bridge construction made of a steel-carbon fibre combination, which is modular in x, y and z direction. The machining centre has a very high machining accuracy (<0.03mm). Due to a very powerful machining head it is be possible to machine almost all materials (from foams to steel) reliably and precisely.
In order to achieve a high surface quality of the machined workpiece, an optional grinding process can be offered in addition to the milling function.

Through the consistent use of composite materials for the moving parts, the mass of the machine could be reduced to approx. 15 tons with approx. 50m³ machining space (approx. 30-60 tons in conventional design). This allows a very high acceleration and jerk to be achieved with very low energy consumption. This results in a very high machine dynamics compared to today’s state of the art.
According to customer requirements, the machining area of the machine could be up to 25m (length) x 4m (width) x 3m (height).
