Components and the resulting products are becoming increasingly complex and individual. In the future, too, companies will have to further shorten the time required for a new product from the idea to delivery in order to be successful on the market.
Established manufacturing processes sometimes reach their limits here. Additive manufacturing promises considerable time savings and process innovations for value creation in manufacturing companies as well as the realization of completely new product properties.
Product, process and material data on additive manufacturing processes as well as innovative materials and new production equipment must be made available at an early stage in product development.
