When does it make sense to use HSM-MODAL®?
In the following circumstances:
In hull manufacture and/or in the manufacture of interior and exterior components of boats, yachts and ships
When working with carbon fibre, glass fibre, plastics, resin and similar materials used for ships components
For the construction of both small components (measuring < 1 m), and for those with medium or large dimensions (> 1 m and < 150 m in length)
For precision moulds and/or when high quality surfaces are required
When high machining and finishing speeds, thus short production times, are desired
To reduce storage space requirement
For which tasks can a customer use HSM-MODAL®?
HSM-MODAL® is ideal for the following:
Milling of negative moulds (direct moulds) for hulls and other components
Extruding onto moulds
Grinding and polishing of moulds
Water jet cutting of edges and apertures
What advantages does HSM-MODAL®offer the customer?
HSM-MODAL® offers many benefits to the customer. Normally it can be operated fully automatically and, if required, it can be controlled by a single operator. Depending on the application, the customer will benefit from the following specific advantages:

| Milling |
|
The maximum cutting speed of the material manufacturer can be achieved. This means that the moulds can be very quickly and cleanly milled.

Milling-time is very short allowing individual customer requirements which affect the hull shape to be easily accommodated.

Due to the high milling speed of HSM-MODAL®, broken or damaged moulds can be remilled within a short period of time. |

|
Fewer moulds need to be retained leading to a reduced requirement for storage space.

| Extruding |
|
Extrusions can quickly be applied to both small and large surfaces. Unlike with manual application, the extruded lines of paste are evenly applied and do not contain air bubbles. This ensures a perfect surface after subsequent milling. |

|
HSM-MODAL® can be used with all standard mixing and application units for multi-component resin.
|
| Grinding and polishing |
|
All sizes of surface, from small to large, can be evenly and thoroughly grinded and polished.
|
|
|
Results obtained from sanding and polishing are reproducible.
|
| Water jet cutting |
|
Edges and apertures can be accurately and reliably cut using a water jet.
