Verbal statement vs. written confirmation:
You are only on the safe side when you have the stated accuracies warranted in written form.
Theoretically an oral confirmation of accuracies is sufficient for acting as a basis for a legal case, should not the production specification be fully met.
Yet the reality looks different, as it is very difficult to prove oral confirmations in case of legal disputes.
Measure of accuracy:
Note that verbal or written statement of Anglo-Saxon companies generally refer to a different measure system.
Thus, seemingly very high accuracies are actually bad, when related to the international measure system.
For example: an accuracy for the X-axis of 0.1 [in inch] translates to 2.54 [in mm]!
Method of accuracy measurement:
If you are not involved in methods of measuring accuracies of machines, make sure that you have it clearly explained to you in advance.
Thus, you have enough time to verify for yourself if the methods used support you confidence in the company.
